Recording
Starting a recording
Section titled “Starting a recording”You can start a recording from three places:
- Sidebar button — click Record in the Quendian main window
- Global shortcut — press ⌘⇧R from anywhere on your Mac, even when Quendian is in the background
- Menu bar — click the Quendian menu bar icon and choose Record
Audio sources
Section titled “Audio sources”Quendian captures two audio sources simultaneously:
- Microphone — your voice and any audio in the room
- System audio — audio playing from other apps on your Mac (meetings, videos, browser tabs)
Both sources are mixed into the recording. See Grant permissions if system audio isn’t being captured.
Menu bar indicator
Section titled “Menu bar indicator”While recording, a red dot appears in the menu bar. Click the menu bar icon to access quick controls — pause, resume, or stop — without switching to the main window.
Pause and resume
Section titled “Pause and resume”Click Pause (or press ⌘⇧R while recording) to pause. The menu bar indicator changes while paused. Press ⌘⇧R or click Resume to continue. The transcript picks up from where it left off.
Stopping
Section titled “Stopping”Press ⌘⇧R or click Stop to end the recording. The session is saved immediately and the transcript finalizes.
Per-session tracking
Section titled “Per-session tracking”Each recording is saved as a separate session in the sidebar. Sessions are stored locally on your Mac. See Sessions for search, rename, and export options.
